Going green – everybody’s doing it! From green building products to green cleaning products, there are myriad ways in which you can opt to become “eco friendly” at home. What about green products for the nursery? Sure, cloth diapers are considered green, but what about furniture and mattresses? Is there a green alternative?

The European company Oeuf makes such products available to the masses! The Oeuf crib, changing stations and dressers with hutches are all streamlined pieces of furniture made durable for years of use. They are also made from natural, renewable and recycled materials. The manufacturer follows strict environmental, as well as quality, guidelines.

The Oeuf crib comes in two styles – Classic and Sparrow. They are made from either birch or Norwegian pine and are painted with non-toxic water-based finishes. Each crib converts to a toddler bed with the purchase of a conversion kit, offering years of use for your child from newborn age to five years old. The mattresses all have three adjustable heights and are the standard crib size.

The changing station is a great space saver: it is a 17″ x 34″ x 4″ “bed” with pad that attaches to the top of the crib rails. It will also attach to the top of other various brands of cribs.

The furniture is made to the same standards as the Oeuf crib, with environmentally friendly MDF, Baltic birch and non-toxic finishes. Oeuf also makes a line of clothing, toys and accessories that are eco friendly and are considered “fair trade,” meaning the products come from places that provide fair wages and safe environments in which to work.

If you are in the market for green products for the nursery, check out the Oeuf line of cribs, changing tables and dressers – you will not be disappointed.
